The £40 per hour rate is open to all NHS employees — clinical and non-clinical. If you work for the NHS, you qualify, no matter your role.
Simply register at ws-driving-school.co.uk/register-now (http://ws-driving-school.co.uk/register-now)and mention that you are an NHS worker in the driving experience question. Wayne will be in touch to confirm your rate and arrange your first lesson.
We keep it simple. We'll ask to see either a valid NHS staff ID card or an NHS email address ending in @nhs.net (http://nhs.net)or your trust's @[trust].nhs.uk (http://nhs.uk)domain. This is confirmed before your first lesson at the discounted rate.
There are a maximum of five spaces at the NHS rate at any one time. If spaces are available, you can begin straight away. If they are full, you'll be added to the waitlist and contacted as soon as a space opens up.
Waitlist places are held in order of registration. When a space becomes available, the next person on the list will be contacted. There's no obligation to accept — if the timing doesn't work for you, you can remain on the list.
Yes. To retain the NHS rate, a minimum of two 2-hour lessons per calendar month is required. This is not just a condition of the rate — it genuinely helps you make consistent progress and get the most from your lessons.
Life happens, especially with NHS rotas and shift patterns. If something comes up, just let Wayne know in advance. One month's grace can be granted for genuine circumstances including illness, rota pressures, or personal emergencies.
The rate applies to standard learner tuition only. It does not apply to refresher lessons, intensive course packages, or Pass Plus training.
Lessons are available within WS Driving School's normal teaching area — CB6 and CB7 postcodes, covering Ely, Witchford, Soham and surrounding villages.
The NHS rate is a per-hour rate. Standard block booking structures do not apply alongside the NHS discount.
NHS rate lessons are available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Weekend and evening slots are not available at the NHS rate — these times are in high demand and fill quickly with students on standard rates. Monday to Friday daytime slots work particularly well for NHS staff working shifts, nights, or non-standard patterns, and often offer more flexibility than you might expect. If you're unsure whether the available times work for your rota, just get in touch and we'll have a straightforward conversation about it.
